Photos Name Elverhoj was taken from Denmark's most famous folk play (written in 1828 and still performed). The name translates as "elves on a hill". The story involves a King's visit to the night world of the dancing female wood spirits. (See Photo click here for - The wood carving on the front door of the museum. It was carved by Viggo Brandt-Erichsen depicting Elverhoj.) To view all pages of the Elverhoy Museum click to the site map. |
