A message from the Tournament Chairmen:

It's hard to believe that another year has passed.  Yet, once again. it is our honor and privilege to welcome you to the Annual Blaine Johnson Memorial Golf Tournament and Awards Banquet.

Held immediately following the close of the NHRA season, the Tournament is now in its fourth year and has become a much anticipated, fun-filled event that draws players and participants from the racing world as well as our local community.

The Tournament provides a unique opportunity for the citizens of the Santa Maria Valley to join together with the Johnson family and NHRA drivers, crew chiefs, crew members and other racing professionals to celebrate Blaine's memory and at the same time, further the education of students in the vocational and industrial arts.

Thanks to your generosity and that of sponsors and other participants in prior tournaments, total proceeds of more than $75,000 have been donated in Blaine's memory to Allan Hancock College.  The funds have been used both to establish VICA scholarships  )which are now self-endowing) and to purchase new, state-of-the-art automotive equipment for the College.

Finally we extend our heartfelt thanks to:

  • The NHRA drivers, crews and staff who have taken the time, following a pressure-packed racing season, to come and support this tournament.

  • The citizens of Santa Maria and the Central Coast who continue to lend their support to this particular event

  • Last but not least our many volunteers -- without their creativity, determination and dedication, this event would not be possible.

This group of photos were taken at the Elks Lodge #1538  in Santa Maria, CA.  These are the candid shots of  people enjoying the event.  Thank you everyone for smiling and allowing me to snap these some good some not so good - hopefully we have captured the feeling of the evening.  Again thank you, for with out you, this event wouldn't have been a success.  Many times someone would say but, I'm nobody - you don't understand - this is about you!   You are the important people!  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You....

Our tee shirt lady - thank you
