APPLE CRISP
- 5 cups peeled & sliced apples
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 # butter, in small pieces

Sweet soft apples, mildly spiced, with
cinnamony crisp brown crumbs on top. It's good served with heavy cream. Preheat the oven to 350degree F. Butter a 11/2 qt baking dish, spread the apples in it, and sprinkle the water on top.
Combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl, and rub the butter with your
fingers until it resembles course crumbs. Spread evenly over the apples. Bake
for about 30 minutes or until the crust is browned. Serves 6
