*...word from Dr Dave that Sprintcar "Don Brown" died
after a long illness. (Don Rudy)
*Just talked to Dana Wilson this
afternoon. He called me from the hospital. He was
work-
ing around his house when he slipped and fell. His
head/neck struck a post and as a result
suffered a broken neck. The break is at C-2 which is
the same as actor Christopher
Reeves suffered some time back
rendering him paralyzed. Fortunate Dana's break did not
cause any paralysis. The doctor said he was one lucky
S.O.B. He is remaining in the hos-
pital perhaps through this weekend although there is a
chance he will be released sooner.
When he's released he will be wearing a C-Collar for
sometime allowing him no movement
of his neck. 12 weeks is the estimate for the
C-Collar. Please say your prayers for Dana
for a full recovery. (Mike Waters)

*NASCAR announced today that the
unofficial results of Saturday's Toyota All-Star
Showdown
Grand National Division race at Irwindale (Ca)
Speedway have been revised, resulting in original
runner-up David Gilliland being
declared the winner. The car driven by
Mike Olsen, originally
listed as the winner in the unofficial results,
failed post-race inspection. Olsen's crew chief,
Harry
Norcross, was determined to be
in violation of Section 12-4-A (actions
detrimental to stock car
racing) and Section 12-4-Q (car, car parts,
components, and/or equipment that do not conform
to NASCAR rules) of the NASCAR rule book.
Olsen's car had unapproved right-side wheels
which exceeded the maximum width of 9 inches and
were less than the 27 pound minimum weight.
The violations dropped Olsen to 31st in the official race finish. Gilliland and all others in the event
moved up one position as a result. Irwindale
Speedway November 12, 2005. Results: 1) David
Gilliland, 2) Matt Kobyluck, 3) Ryan Moore, 4)
